John A Thompson27 May 2026I had cracked a tooth on a very good German sausage while in Europe. I am a retired Lexington dentist having practiced here for over forty years. Dr. Cartee had joined the practice soon after I retired eight years ago. I knew he had taken extensive post graduate courses in surgery and implant placement. I decided to have him evaluate my problem which I knew was going to require a significant treatment. Five days ago Dr. Billy removed my tooth and placed a graft and implant. I was amazed when the entire procedure took just about one hour. Even though I knew every step of his procedure, I had no discomfort whatsoever during treatment. I did take two Tylenol before the numbness abated. Now, five days later I am still waiting for the first sign of discomfort. I was pleasantly surprised when Ginger my hygienist said we have new equipment to clean and polish your teeth. No more scaling each tooth! She use a wand -type piece of equipment that shoots a stream of water which gently removes the plaque. Then instead of using the gritty polish compound she sprays your teeth with a glycerin based product which buffs and smooths your teeth! Amazing! Dr Cartee then checks everything and I was given a clean bill of health. Wonderful dental health care! Today I visited their new office for my six month check-up. The office is the state of the art and very comfortable. Ginger cleaned my teeth and did an exceptional job. Then the new dentist came in to check my teeth gums and lymph nodes. I was given a clean bill of help along with a new toothbrush, paste , and floss. It a great experience and i have full confidence that they are taking care of my dental health. A+++Posted on Google

They were so patient and understanding from the very first time I reached out to schedule an appointment. As someone with intense dental anxiety, I do not enjoy anything to do with dental visits. My teeth are in such bad shape that I am looking into dental implants and I wanted to see what my options were. Dr. Cartee gave me all of the options, not just what he thought was best. He laid out timelines, success rates, possible complications with each plan and then gave me his opinion on what he would do if it were him. I left the office with a clear plan of action and no confusions whatsoever- complete with referrals for specialists for some root canal procedures that would need to be completed. I felt like he really took the time to make me feel seen, heard and important. I wasn't just another claim to file. c t14 April 2025Five days ago an abscessed tooth started to really hurt. My regular dentist could not extract the tooth for a week, so I searched other options. I called Dental Concepts the next morning and Dr. Cartee worked me in later that day. Wow! Even more striking was Dr. Cartee’s surgical skill. Over the years I have had 5 teeth extracted. Each of the previous times involved different surgeons and left a week or so of bleeding and pain around the wound site, and muscle soreness around the jaw. I didn’t know it could be any different. This time I had no muscle soreness around the jaw. The wound site only bled minimally, and only for a day. The sutures did not pull and hurt. I was fine with just over-the-counter pain meds twice per day, so I didn’t lose any time. Truly amazing! Now I am mad at my previous surgeons, but so happy to have found an oral surgeon with the skill and caring to provide a higher standard of care. In addition to Dr. Cartee’s exceptional care, there are other reasons I was happy I chose Dental Concepts. They offer a broad range of services, so I don’t have to go one place for cleanings and another for oral surgery. Their friendly and informative staff made it easy to get my questions about services and costs answered. Their modern, spacious, new offices are comfortable and reassuring. Last but not least, I actually paid about 10% less than my previous dentist charged for the same procedure a few weeks ago. I got great service and a great value. Linda Haggard11 March 2025My consultation with Dental Concepts in Lexington went very well. The entire staff made me feel very comfortable and settled my concerns about dental implants. They seem to have the latest and greatest technology for dental implants from start to finish. Dr. Cartee and his wife Katie took very good care of me and explained the entire process. I was introduced to the lab technician that will make my teeth and give me a beautiful smile. They take care of everything right there in his office and I will walk out with a new set of teeth that day. Everything is digital and I will not have to go through any impressions with that gooey material. I decided to proceed with the surgery and I feel that I am in good hands. To get past the holidays, I was given an antibiotic and an appoint for after the new year. I was very thankful for their service. Update - Went for appt for extraction today. The worst part was worrying abt the procedure and numbing. No pain in either numbing or extraction. No stitches or pressure gauze for bleeding. Jennifer Waibel31 January 2025Where do I begin, my poor husband had 2 teeth extracted at another dentist office and had major pain afterwords. Went back 3 times to get it resolved and still had major problems. So, I called Doctor Cartee's office and they got us in that day. And he figured out what was wrong. Within 10 minutes of us being there. Doctor Cartee informed us, you have a fractured jaw. Not only did he do all of that, he also got my husband into an Oral Surgeon the next day at UK Hospital. He does do major surgery's but not this one. So we really appreciate him getting us into this surgeon. He will be forever our dentist. Everyone in the office is Super Nice. He has extracted a couple of teeth for me and was very caring of how I was feeling through out the procedure. I didn't feel a thing. We thank him and his staff Very Much!Posted on Google

I started on my dental implant journey after I had just gotten upper dentures and hated them, saw Dr Cartee on tv gave them a call and it’s the best decision I ever made!! He is a wonderful dentist knows what he’s doing and the prices can’t be beat, and believe me I did my homework, everyone there is wonderful! My hygienist is wonderful too. This is the first time I’ve gotten a filling and not only didn’t even feel the numbing shot (which is wild), but I also didn’t have to tell him to adjust anything after he put the filling in and sanded/polished to correct my bite. Then the Dentist and his technician offered to remount the tooth and explained to me that the condition of my denture, and that it be a matter of time before it would come out again.Then they worked me right in and took an ex-ray and explained everything in great detail on what needed to be done to replace my denture’s with dentures that can withstand a stronger bit and they gave me a price by the end of the day. Dr. Cartee very caringly and perfectly had performed 2 implants about 1-1/2 years ago. I’m not a very brave patient, but I’m telling you the process was as easy and painless as could be! I returned this afternoon for my regular cleaning and had a few concerns about TMJ. All my questions were answered and I was given some excellent advice on how to care for this going forward.
